Profile

Gillian’s principal areas of practice are family law and employment-related disciplinary matters.

Gillian was admitted to the New South Wales Bar in May 2009, having practiced as a solicitor at Allens Arthur Robinson as a commercial lawyer from 2005.  She read on 5 Wentworth with Duncan Miller SC and Ben Katekar SC before developing an interest in family law and moving to specialist chambers in 2010.

Gillian graduated from the University of Sydney with First Class Honours in Law. For several years, Gillian has been rated in Doyle’s Guide to the Legal Profession. She is currently rated as a leading Family Law Junior Counsel in NSW and recommended nationally.

She accepts briefs in family law parenting and property matters at first instance and on appeal, and as a mediator.

Gillian is a Member of the NSW Bar Association and Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia.

Since August 2021, Gillian has been a member of the Board of the NSW Independent Liquor and Gaming Authority, which is responsible for making decisions on higher risk licensing proposals and disciplinary matters involving hotels, clubs, liquor outlets and casinos.

Outside of the law, Gillian is a Patron of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and a Member of its Council.  She is also the owner of two delightful black Labradors, speaks reasonable French and plays the oboe.  Anyone who knows her, calls her Gill.
